Our own tools — in use at our bar, opening to other bars soon.

Built in our bar

Two tools we built to fix problems we kept hitting behind our own bar.

Disclosure: these are our own tools, built by the people behind Back of House AI. We keep them separate from the independent listings: they aren't in the directory, category or POS pages, comparisons, or search, and they never affect how any other tool is listed or described.

Bar Inventory

Know where every bottle went.

Count the back bar on your phone in minutes — full bottles and partials, section by section, with par alerts as you go. Then it lines up what left the shelf against what your POS actually rang, bottle by bottle, and flags anything poured heavy. The first week we ran it at our bar, it showed our most popular vodka averaging a 2 oz pour on a 1.5 oz drink.

  • Phone counting with partial bottles
  • Par alerts while you count
  • Bottles used vs. drinks rung, per bottle
  • Flags over-pours and missing bottles
  • Built around SpotOn data (more POS coming)
Bar Inventory on a phone: the Liquor Count screen for Back Bar — Vodka, 31 of 50 bottles counted, with full and partial counts for Tito's, Grey Goose, Ketel One (flagged below par), Well Vodka and Deep Eddy Lemon.
Bar Inventory bottles vs. sales table, Monday to Thursday close at a 1.5 oz pour: Tito's Handmade is flagged for 11.8 bottles used against 150 drinks rung, a 2.9 bottle gap and a 2.0 oz average pour, with $142 unaccounted for at cost.

StaffHub

Scheduling that doesn't live in a group text.

Build the week, publish it, and staff only see their own shifts. Trades need the other person to accept and then a manager to approve — no more surprise swaps on a Friday night. Time off and availability live in the same place.

  • Draft, then publish the week
  • Staff see only their own shifts
  • Two-step shift trades (accept + manager approval)
  • Time-off and availability requests

StaffHub shift trade card marked needs manager approval: Jordan M. to Alex R., Friday Oct 23, 6 PM to close, bartender. Jordan requested, Alex accepted, waiting on manager, with Decline and Approve swap buttons.
